Between painting and cartography. Agostino Carracci’s map of Bologna · The article aims to reconstruct the cultural context around which the drafting of the map of Bologna attributed to Agostino Carracci (1581) took shape. Starting from the analysis of the previous erudite production of a geo-historical nature, in which a certain image of the city is developed, and a rereading of the documents and sources available which record possible graphic and pictorial elaborations of the city of Bologna during the sixteenth century, the authors carry out a reflection that leads to the pictorial production of the end of the century and the possible influences that such images had on Carracci’s experimentation in the Gregorian age. In particular, the authors propose to reconsider the role that the graphic work of Cherubino Ghirardacci in the service of Gabriele Paleotti had in it, and analyse the influence that this Bolognese production, between Ghirardacci and Carracci, had in the elaboration of the Hall Bologna of Gregory XIII in the Vatican Palace.

Abstract
In particular, the authors propose to reconsider the role that the graphic work of Cherubino Ghirardacci in the service of Gabriele Paleotti had in it, and analyse the influence that this Bolognese production, between Ghirardacci and Carracci, had in the elaboration of the Hall Bologna of Gregory XIII in the Vatican Palace.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
